Allevyn Lite dressings have a non-adherent wound contact layer, which results in minimal disturbance of healing tissue upon removal, maximising patient comfort.
Allevyn Lite dressings have the ability to stay in place for up to five days. This capacity results from a number of properties:
The perforated wound contact layer allows even viscous exudate to pass into the dressing.
The hydrocellular core of the dressing absorbs exudate into its microscopic structure.
The breathable outer surface of the dressing allows excess moisture to evaporate away from the dressing

Allevyn Lite dressings can be cut to suit various wound shapes and locations

The outer, pink layer used on Allevyn* dressings is a breathable film layer. This allows the formation and maintenance of a moist wound healing environment at the wound surface, preventing eschar formation and promoting rapid and trouble free healing. The pink film is also waterproof and bacteriaproof. The hydrophilic core of Allevyn Lite controls absorption, even under compression.
 
Indications

Allevyn Lite can be used all types of granulating wounds with a low to moderate rate of exudation.
 
Contraindications / Precautions

Do not use Allevyn lite dressings with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solution or peroxide solutions, as these can break down the absorbent hydrocellular component of the dressing. If reddening or sensitisation of the skin occurs, discontinue use.
